Wash Day Session: Recovery from JACKED-UP-HAIR!

Today is wash day [September 8, 2013], my last wash day was September 1, 2013 when I had used some products sent to me for reviews. I had not so favourable experience with the line.

On September 3, 2013 I had to run through my stash to see what I could find to remedy the disaster. [I did a pre-poo with Original Moxie Emollience Pre-Poo Treatment and then steam with it for a further 30mins. I then co-wash with Tressemme Vibrantly Smooth Conditioner for a boost of Moisture and leave-in with Oyin Hair Dew seal with Shea Mix and Oyin Pomade. – My hair breathed again]

Anyway I still feel the need for another extra kick of Moisture, suppleness and manageability. So I decide to do another wash session today. The products below is what I will be using today.

P9081966

[1]. Pre-Poo overnight and finger detangle – Original moxie Emollience Treatment

My Wash Day Session: Take #3

Overdue wash day session again [September 1, 2013], so this was my last wash date. This session I will be using some products I was sent many months ago to review.

I started out with a pre-poo using coconut oil and I finger detangled. I decide that from this month for about the next 2 months I will be giving finger detangling a go again. I tried it out at the start when I BC 16 months ago but I didn’t appreciate it then. Neither did I fully understand how to work with my hair and what would work to help make finger detangling easier and effective.

Anyway, the night before I took apart my twist out and work through each twist-outs with some coconut oil and gently work it through from tips to root and then from roots to tip throughout my hair.

After my whole head was detangled and coconut oil was applied to it, I then cover my hair with two steam caps and scarf up for the night.

The [pic] below is my hair the next day after the over night pre-poo and the coconut oil I used to pre-poo with.

Wash Day Session: Detox Meeee!

It’s that time of the week again, I am a little late on delivering last weeks wash session, so you will be getting two wash session in one go this weekend. ‘WASH DAY’ [25 August 2013]

P8241511

I am going to be doing a few things this weekend, I just realized I have not done a bentonite clay (detox) on my hair over 6 months now. It is way overdue. I like to try and do one very 2-3 months, to keep my scalp and hair free from build up and coating from the non-natural products I use.

My Washday Sessions: Take #1

Hello Diary Readers, It’s has been a while, I went off and abandon you. Well you know how life can be at times. But I am hoping to make a full return and have regular updates, especially as how it seems to be warming up here.

I also have a lot of reviews to bring to you and some hair updates.

Anyways I have decided to add something new to the blog that will and or should allow me to be more proactive with blogging. Anyways let me cut to the chase and let you know what it is that I decide to add. I will be adding my weekly sessions /  my washday’ sessions. This allow me to show what I do and how I do it and at the same time get some product reviews done.

So with that being said here is my first wash session upon my return to blogging.

Friday, August 16, 2013 - wash session!

I had to pull out my Elucence Moisture Shampoo & Elucence Moisture Balancing Conditioner << click on each product for a full review :).

P8161305

Okay I had pull out this DC out fir two [2] reasons;

1. my jacked my own hair up about a week ago with another DC. It wasn’t the DC fault so I am not going to say which DC it is. I’ve used this DC for years without any issues until I decided to act a fool and leave in overnight. Due to the fact that I started my hair late and decided to sleep with it in, which at the time I was contemplating that it would not be a good idea. But due to being lazy; I let that overcame my common sense.

So due to my hair being ridiculously dry and brittle, I needed moisture to the MAX to help restore moisture, softness and bring back pliability to my parched hair.

2. This is the second time I am using it and I wanted to pair it with one of its shampoo. The shampoo pictured will be the first time I will be using it.

So I had pre-pooed/hot oil treat my hair overnight with a mix of coconut oil & black castor oil.

REVIEW: I’m just going to get to the point with this DC, it didn’t give me what I was looking for or expected on both the occasions I used it :/

Here is what I was expecting as per the bottle soft, moisturized and silky hair after using this conditioner. My hair did not feel soft or moisturized as I had expected, it felt some what as if I had used a light/medium protein treatment o.O My hard was not hard by me saying that but it was somewhat coarse after the DC session.

I will they the following though, it did aid very well in detangling, it has mad slip and a little goes a very long way, even better if you spritz with water to stretch the conditioner application.

Also the smell is divine, it smells of ‘perfect ripened peaches’ it is awesome.

The consistency is a nice smooth, creamy and medium thick consistency.

REVIEW: First off this line of product smells phenomenal. This shampoo must be one of the best smelling shampoo I’ve come across in a long time, it smell good enough to sip on as if you were having a tropical fruit punch. It smell so good to even use as a body wash >.< #dontjudgeme lol

It is a rich, semi-thick, creamy peach-colour pearl like shampoo.

P8171408

So I made the mistake to assume that it would not be potent, due to the fact I have high density texture. Where I have to wash in sections and wet each section down thoroughly with water prior to product application. So with that being said I pour out too much for my first application, wow you would have thought i was having a bubble-bath shower lol After that I cut back for the other 3 section of my hair.

It rinsed well even though it is concentrated, it leave the hair clean, I did notice that i could have done another lather up for a cleaner scalp. But to be honest I think it is not necessarily the shampoo fault as I did use quite a bit of product for styling my hair during the week prior to me using this shampoo.

P8161320

P8161327

The above pics are the lather up session and the results after I rinsed my hair out. My hair was soft and I was able to lightly detangle with no snagging. I really like the results I got form using this shampoo and I would buy it again when there is a sale on at curl mart. As I only buy form curl mart when there is a running sale.

That is all I have for now. Have you use this shampoo? What have been your experience?

Hair Update–Heatless Flexi-rod set!

Hello Diary Readers it been a while since a did any blogging. I am working my way back to doing it weekly, it can be somewhat difficult when you fall off the sphere of bogging.

Anyways here is to the new start of blogging again.

March 31st, 2013 mark my one year being natural – BC YT >http://youtu.be/TdvgecsZMz4< and hair pics after BC. It’s 1 year ago after 24 months of transitioning that I cut off my texlaxed ends. Unfortunately I didn’t do anything special to my hair on the day >.< lame I know. I will around to doing some more hair photos for those who would like to see my progress and I will also do a length check comparison also.

Nevertheless, Last night momentarily madness took over and I decide on old twisted up hair to experiment with some flexi-rod. I took down each twisted section and separated into smaller section spritz with AVJ+water and seal with my shea butter mix. and went to flexi-rod setting. I slept in them for the night and took them down today and fluff some.

I like it actually, a bit frizzy, since it was done in a moment of madness. I have an idea of how I can go about dealing with the frizz next time.

This is all I use to set my hair on the flexi-rod, please note that this is 7 days old twisted up hair that I am working with.
